Concert Update
by David Guzman with Marc Golob
South Florida often plays host to big names in the entertainment industry, from stadium-filling concerts to small coffeehouse shows. In a field that is so often dominated by secular messages, CALL FM has solidified it's committment to provide great christian music at exciting venues. If you haven't caught any of these shows, this is what you missed.....
On June 2nd, The Jesus Freaks (no, not D.C talk) descended on the University of Miami to crank out a very loud show. Their cross-over hardcore sound was heightened by a spectacular light show and an excited crowd that eventually demanded, and got, a great encore.
To top it all off, two regional bands opened-Satellite Circle and Ninth Hour . Did I mention it was loud? And we musn't forget the free merchandise that was won by a fortunate few. Even the CALL FM promoters were impressed both by the musicianship of the Jesus Freaks, and the way that each band ministered to the audience.
These have been truly memorable shows, and CALL FM is planning more in the future. By the time this issue of the trumpeter is in your hands, they will have hosted Mortification, with Frank's Enemy and Iron Faith.
