SEE YOU AT THE POLE!

What will you be doing September 18 at 7AM? Not sleeping I hope! Imagine, over a million youth will be gathered around the flag poles at junior high, senior high, and college campuses to pray that morning in all 50 states. They will also be joined by students in such countries as Moscow, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Africa and Canada. Do you plan on attending? I certainly pray so. Just think of it, you and your friends will be given the chance to pray without reservation for every concern of yours. If you are distraught about your family, pray for them; if you want to lift up the leadership in this country, pray for that; if you want to pray for your most annoying enemy, pray for him/her as well (even if this does include your sister). Why miss out on this blessed opportunity to not only spend precious time praying to your Lord Jesus Christ but to also be a witness to those who may not be involved. Come on, how many times a year do you get to pray to your Almighty God and be joined by at least a million other teens? Not that many! So be there for this unforgettable event that will not only touch your life but all the millions of people that you pray for.

Matthew 18:19 in the bible says, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Dusty Weaver, a recent graduate from Southridge Sr. High School who has been to four See You at the Pole (SYATP) events say, "it gives you the opportunity to stand up for what you believe and show others it's not uncool to be a christian. It's a dynamic thing."

Matthew 7:7 in the Bible states, "Ask and it will be given to you ; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Remember, even those who seem too far to reach are truly just a prayer away.

THE DEN

Saturday, the night of May 25 was a tremendous success as the hip alternative band Life of Riley blessed the ears of the listeners while playing their fresh new music of today. The director and coordinator of The Den (a christian coffeehouse) responded that the band "came as a big surprise for me because they looked like they've got it all together, especially musically". When asked how the night went he replied that "the Lord blessed it". Kellie (lead singer and acoustic guitar player for the band), when refering to the band which includes her husband Bobby Hutchins (base player and back up vocals), and Tim Clo (drummer), replied that "our desire is to share the truth of who Christ is and make him a reality through the relationship that we have with him." Tim Clo said there's excitement involved in being a Christian, "because I know God is really awsome and I'd like to show it through my actions". Keep your eyes and ears open for other upcoming concerts. Visit The Den Sat. July 27 and Aug. 24 for more great music. For more infor call (305)235-4471.

WHAT'S HOT?

If you are interested in checking out new, fresh music at your nearest Bible bookstore then keep your eyes open for Eric Champion's latest release TRANSFORMATION. Until you've heard TRANSFORMATION you haven't really heard what true uncut, unprecedented, and just all-around good rock music sounds like. But don't take my word for it: The guitar player, Dave Clo, who toured with Eric Champion, and is on his new release, says that the album contains incredibly powerful songs and "the words behind every song have an awesome message" which appeal to teens and encourages them to keep striving for Christ and be all that they can be for him.
