Letters to the Editor
Dear Eva:
This letter is to thank you for the coverage you gave to the issue of home educated students participating in extracurricular activities in public and private schools and by forming their own teams. We are happy to report that the High School Extracurricular Activities Act for Home Educated Students (The Craig Dickinson Bill) became a law in the State of Florida on May l6, l996. Due to the help of journalists like you, educating the public on behalf of Florida's home educated families, the law passed almost unanimously and Governor Chiles did not veto the bill as he did last year at this time. Thank you again for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Ralph and Joanne Ortega

We wanted to send you a few lines to let you know what a good response we get to our ad in the Trumpeter and how pleased we are with it (under Cornerstone Financial Counselors, formerly Family Life Credit Services). We get about eight to twenty calls a week and most of these result in appointments being set and new clients. We also get referrals from clients who found us in the Trumpeter who refer family and friends to us.
We really enjoy reading The Trumpeter and have found it an excellent source of Christian services and businesses in the community who have heard of our good results. We have also made valuable contacts this way. We really believe it is better to accept counsel from believers than unbelievers and it is also very important for the Christian community to support each other financially by using each others services (and keeping our money within the Body of Christ and not out in the secular community.)
We really appreciate you and your staff. Keep up the good work and may God richly bless you all continuously!
Sincerely,
Mitchell Marks and Vivian Marks

Re: "Rabin's Assassination" - (Jan-Feb 96 p 32)
Perhaps I am mistaken but I was under the impression that the Trumpeter sought to be a Christian voice in the community. Imagine my disappointment to read that Yitzak Rabin "has not only seen God, but his voice has now joined the throne of heaven singing God's praises." How? By what means?
I think this should be corrected immediately. We cannot abandon the gospel in some misguided zeal to say something nice about a Jewish leader! The Bible does not teach that one can be saved by peacemaking here on earth. Jesus said He was the way, the truth, and the life and no man could come to the Father except through Him. I trust the Trumpeter agrees.
Sincerely,
George Poulos
